We have started a new curriculum in Sunday School, The Gospel Project for Babies & Toddlers – a three-year chronological study of Scripture. Each week’s study builds upon the previous week.  The Gospel Project is a real way of teaching gospel truths to babies & toddlers in a way that meets them where they are.   The Gospel Project provides Gospel Gems (three or four sentences of Bible story truths) and a Main Point for their leaders to say as they rock, play, feed, or change the little ones. If your babies are in sitters and scooters phase, it provides simple activities such as singing a song to a familiar tune, reading a book, or a manipulative toy that you probably already use to engage babies. The key is repeating the Gospel Gems and/or the Main Point throughout the time the babies & toddlers are in our care.  Many of the gospel truths we will teach the babies & toddlers starting in Fall 2016 are truths we already tell them now.  Babies & toddlers need to hear that God made everything. God made people. God loves people. People make right or wrong choices. God sent Jesus because He loves us.   As they grow, we will be able to go deeper with the gospel because we started out with the basics of who God is and His love for us.

Are we really going to be on the same story alignment as preschool, kids, students, and adults?

Yes, we will. Repetition is key for this age group. Since the babies’ and toddlers’ parents will be learning these Bible stories (if they attend the Adult IV Sunday School Class), it will be easier for parents to reinforce the Gospel Gems and Main Point at home.
